💛 2022 – A Vision Begins to Form

In 2022, God began stirring a vision in the heart of Denita Thomas — a vision to honor her family through service, compassion, and community outreach. What started as small acts of kindness, holiday support, and remembrance gatherings soon grew into the foundation of something greater.

That same year, the TLLJ Thomas Family Foundation officially began its journey. The organization was formally established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and its mission, vision, and values were prayerfully shaped. The first board members were appointed, marking the beginning of structured programs and intentional community service.

In 2022, the Foundation also formed an ongoing partnership with the City of Hamlet, joining together to support families, youth, and community events — a partnership that continues to grow and strengthen today.

🌱 2023 – Community Support Grows

In 2023, friends, family, and community members came together to support the early outreach efforts of the Foundation. What began as small acts of kindness quickly grew into meaningful programs that touched families throughout the community.

The first informal initiatives began, including:

• Holiday gift support — providing Christmas gifts and seasonal encouragement to families in need.
• Family encouragement initiatives — offering emotional support, prayer, and practical help to families facing hardship.
• Community remembrance activities — honoring the memory of Tesmond, LaTanya, Levi, and Judah through gatherings of reflection, love, and healing.

👟 2024 – Community Giving Expands

In 2024, the Foundation expanded its community outreach by supporting the Shoes .Org Shoe Drive, helping provide much-needed footwear to children and families in need.

The Foundation also participated in the City of Hamlet Pop-Up Market, strengthening its presence in the community and connecting directly with local families.

This year also marked the Foundation’s approval for Charitable Solicitation Licensing, enhancing its ability to fundraise and serve with transparency, accountability, and integrity.

🎒 2025 – Programs Expand & Lives Are Touched

In 2025, the Foundation experienced significant growth as several major programs and family-centered events were launched to honor the legacy of Levi, Judah, Tesmond, and LaTanya. These initiatives strengthened community connections and expanded the Foundation’s outreach.

The year’s programs and events included:

• Levi & Judah Backpack Drive — providing school supplies and support to children in need.
• Community Holiday Support Programs — blessing families with seasonal assistance and encouragement.
• Grief & Family Assistance Outreach — offering emotional, spiritual, and practical support to families facing hardship.
• Levi & Judah Heroes Are Forever Trunk-or-Treat — a joyful Halloween celebration honoring Levi and Judah.
• Levi & Judah Easter Egg Bash — a fun, family-friendly Easter event filled with activities and community fellowship.
• Heart of a Mother – Mother’s Day Brunch — a beautiful celebration held in honor of LaTanya Jones, uplifting mothers throughout the community.
• Take a Walk in the Park – Father’s Day Gathering — a peaceful and meaningful Father’s Day event honoring fathers and families.

Throughout 2025, the Foundation also began preparing for its first Legacy Scholarship and the inaugural Annual TLLJ Legacy Gala, marking a major milestone in its mission to uplift and empower the community.

🎓 2026 – The Legacy Scholarship & First Annual Gala

A major milestone year.

The Foundation introduced the TLLJ Legacy Scholarship, supporting students in honor of Tesmond, LaTanya, Levi, and Judah.

On September 19, 2026, the Foundation will host the First Annual TLLJ Legacy Gala, bringing the community together for a night of remembrance, celebration, and purpose.
